Preschool Curriculum

Gateway Christian Academy Preschool offers Toddler and Preschool classes.  We provide quality care in a friendly, happy, healthy, challenging environment and offer each child appropriate opportunities to stimulate growth and development to his/her fullest potential through self-discipline, building self-confidence, strengths, and skills.

Gateway Christian Academy Preschool provides a challenging academic program by utilizing excellent curriculum and strong instruction to guide student achievement at the Preschool level. Biblical principles are integrated into the instruction of all subjects ensuring a Christian perspective of education and learning. PK3 and PK4 students also attend weekly classes in computer and Spanish.

Classroom teaching involves primary use of the A Beka Book (www.abeka.com) textbooks, curriculum, and materials which are timely, thorough and trustworthy and are “based on results from reliable studies for traditional best practices (as opposed to a theoretical, experimental approach).

Technology – We are building technology education into our school to allow teaching and learning to go beyond the traditional classroom.

Bi-Monthly Chapel – All students, faculty, and staff attend chapel weekly.  Parents are always welcome to attend.

Spanish – The overall objective is to develop listening and speaking proficiency.

Elementary Curriculum

Gateway Christian Academy provides a challenging academic program by utilizing excellent curriculum and strong instruction to guide student achievement at the Elementary level. Biblical principles are integrated into the instruction of all subjects ensuring a Christian perspective of education and learning. Students also attend weekly classes in art, music, computer and Spanish to give depth and diversity to their educational experience.

The educational approach is founded on biblical principles that address the nature of the learner and learning, the nature of truth and authority, and what is important to learn and know.  “Today’s students need to be taught the accumulated wisdom of the past from a biblical worldview so they will have a firm foundation from which to evaluate the present and make proper decisions for the future.”

Art – Our elementary students are privileged to have renowned Artist, Sculptor, and Educator, Mr. Peter Olsen (Virtual gallery www.peterolsenart.com)

Technology – We are building technology education into our school to allow teaching and learning to go beyond the traditional classroom, engage students and provide them with personal learning experiences and the tools to become technologically literate.

Spanish – The overall objective is to continue the development of listening and speaking skills, enabling children to communicate their needs in greater detail. Also, introduce the development of writing skills.

Physical Education (P.E.) – Students K-5th will participate in Physical Education (P.E.) every Friday for structured classes.
